Question:

Should I have killed the kittten?

Was walking along a buisy road when I saw this cute little kitten by the side of the road. It hissed and spat, but finally came up to me it was so hungry. Too young to survive on its own and no parent about, so it must have been abandoned there by a car. On a business trip so no way to take care of it myself and no shelters (that don't need any more cats) open. Should I have just dropped it off a nearby bridge into a river, or left it to die from cars, foxes or starvation? Even if it were somehow to survive, we don't need any more ferrel cats killing birds in the area.

  1. cmon man u shudnt b bothered bou the cat eatin up birds...its the food cycle...u cant help it!!

nd u shud hav just left the cat over there as the animals know hw 2 survive on there own...the reason y 90%animals can swim when needed to is that unlike humans they dont have the fear of drowning...so the nxt time u see sum pet..dnt even think f throwing it in2 a river...da peta fellas would b on lookout fr u else!!!:-)

  2. doesn't you being on a "business trip" imply intelligence? maybe intelligence doesn't include "common sense"pardon my if my answer is disturbing

  3. Killing it would have been the best thing. No need to take the chance that it might turn out a healthy cat or that someone else might happen by and help it.

  4. You should be castrated! Ever hear of the animal shelter, take it there you idiot!

  5. That is a tough one. We have a hobby farm and people drop off animals there all the time. and 90% of the time its cats with kittens.

I'm not saying kill it but more needs to be done to make it easier and cheaper fopr things to get spade/nuetered.

  6. It's not the kitten's fault if it will kill bird when it manages to survive. You should have tried to save the kitten. But I can understand your situation.

  7. What!!??  You should have brought it to a shelter. If you didn't have a car, I'm sure a co-worker did!  And if there weren't any shelters nearby, a Veterinary Hospital might have taken it.  That's just very cruel to want to drop a kitten off a bridge.

  8. What gives human's the right to "thin out number"? What would happen if a super race came to our planet and decided to thin out our numbers?

At least we have a voice to respond! SCUM

  9. the chances of it living were slim to none, although its very heartbreaking that this had to be done...it was probably the beset thing to do.

  10. You made contact you should have taken the resposibility to follow through and help it out, but you got lazy and irresponsible, someday YOU will be starving beside the road and see how it feels...just another dumb American living in a disposable society!

Sure your last name isn't BUSH!

  11. My question is not what you should have done, but what DID you do with the poor thing ???.

  12. there was so many answers.

and murder is not one of them.

    nothing deserves to be killed.

    ]:

and you could have bought some MothersMilk powder, and fed it. taken care of it for the night and taken it to a shelter in the morning.

or an animal hospital, most of them are open all night.

    that poor thing.

WHY WOULD YOU THINK TO KILL IT!.

    that is so heartbreaking.

  13. Take it to a no-kill shelter. They will nurse it back to health and hopefully find a home for it.

  14. Informed the  local animal shelter

  15. Well... you could have helped it. You know find some food for it. And crickets? Not a good idea. Ok this goes for everyone. If you see an Animal in need of help PLEASE HELP. Take them home. HELP the animal(s) find a home! I mean if you could really LOOK into their eyes, and you feel sad, HELP! I mean its like when a person makes a REALLY REALLY good puppy face, you have something in your heart that hits you. You have room for the person (or animal) that you would take care of. And when I say puppy dog faces, I mean ANIMALS. Look at the eyes! They NEED YOU! So help a animal. Adopt one. It'll make you and the animal feel better.

  16. No...Im glad you didn't kill it-I think that would've been too much taking things into your own hands...I do wish you could've taken it in, even if only to give it to a better home when you could've found one for it.  Business trips though...*shrugs* I think just walking away was the only thing you could've done really.

  17. Uh, NO!! If you wanna stop the bird-killing, you could've taken it to an animal shelter, but birds will keep getting killed anyway, because that's what cat are supposed to do.

  18. UMMMMMM yeah you did good by picking up the cat off of the busy road ! but killing it was a bad idea you could of gave it to some one then just killing it!

  19. well, i for one, dont wish to kill any cats, much less a kitten. but mabie its mother just left it there for a moment to get it food and it just wandered off. its mother will find it or the cars will get it. at least you dont have the killing of the poor little creature on ypur conscense. poor little thing, i whould have taken it anyway.  but hey, mabie someone else found it, someone who had a little girl at home who wanted a cat, hmm?

  20. You should've tried to help it!
