  1. No.  I put my car on a front trolley so I could pull it behind my truck and forgot to take the brake off for 2500 miles.  THEN I needed new brakes.  Otherwise, dont' worry about it.

  2. You should be fine. It would take alot more than 12 blocks to cause any heat damage to the pads , disks, or drums.

  3. Depends how much it was 'up'.

I would have it checked anyway, just in case.

Better to be safe than sorry!

  4. Only if you notice problems with the car. I've gone further with it up, no damage.

  5. No harm done if it's only 12 blocks.  Your brake pads may have worn a little but not much.

  6. I would suspect not, but it never hurts to try. Easy check, find 2 men decent sized fellas, park it on a flat street, leave it in neutral (Manual or Automatic, do not leave in gear or in Park for an auto) put on your E-brake have both of them push, (forward, and then backward) (careful not to damage your car) if it doesn't move you are fine, if it does move than take it to the dealership and have them tighten the emergency brake cables. It is much more likely that the only thing (if anything) you did to your car was give it a couple years/months of emergency brake use. Also in the future pay close attention when the brake begin to squeak as you may have worn the pads a bit prematurely. Hope that helps!

  7. i'd say yes... i'm afraid that if you park at the side of a hill your car may just run down the hill like a baby on steroids...

  8. It depends on how hard the brakes were applied.  The fact that you drove twelve blocks before noticing would tend to indicate that the brakes were not on too hard.  Different cars have different parking brake systems, so that might make a difference.  It sounds like you put no more strain on them than you would going down a mountain.  You would probably have smelled them if they were overheated.  For your peace of mind it might be good to have them checked. Some places do that for free in hopes of selling you a brake job.

  9. yes

  10. if it does have any proplems now then ovi go c bt ma mum 1ce did that n she didn't have any problems watsoeva

  11. I don't think you need to unless its giving you a problem.  I once drove a car an entire day with it up not realizing that it was up, and the car was still fine.  Just listen for anything out of the ordinary.

  12. if it's front wheel drive it doesn't matter, but at the same time you would have heard the rear tyres squealing.

so i assume its a rear wheel drive. it strains the driveline, but if you manages 12 blocks with it on you mustn't have had it on very hard. im sure your car is fine
