Question:

Should I have my crown replaced???

I paid a ton of money for a crown (back left)...it popped off a two weeks ago, I know I should get it put back on but it's actually more comfortable without it (food would get stuck inside and there was always a bad taste)....I don't really want it back on since it's not visible but I don't want to ruin the rest of my teeth. What are your thoughts?

  1. If you don't replace it, the base part of the tooth will probably decay and need to be extracted.  Also, no food should get stuck in a properly fitting crown.   The crown being loose was probably why that was happening, and perhaps the cause of the bad taste.   There may already be decay there, so see your dentist.

  2. The stub left for the crown will not last very long due to bacterial decay.  You must get it put back on and reshaped at the base to get rid of the problem you had.

There is no reason for the base problems you described because it can be fitted better than it was to begin with..
