I'd love your opinion! I have long dark brown hair.

My dress:

I have included some examples of the styles I would consider below.

Hair up:

Hair half up and half down:

  1. I think half up half down, your dress is gorgeous by the way.

  2. that's a gorgeous dress! for your hair i would do hair up in a low-ish bun and maybe loose curls? it's pure elegance and it won't look terrible by the end of your reception. good luck and congratulations :)

  3. since the dress is very formal and elegant a full up would look amazing, like the model in the photo of the dress.  It would show your neck and shoulders too.

  4. With that dress, I love the hair up

  5. I love the first picture - all up.

The dress is absolutely stunning and I dont think your hair should take away from that. As it is a strapless dress, I believe that shoulders and back can be very s**y in a non obvious kind of way, (perfect for a wedding) for a woman and if your hair is all up, then they will be on show and look beautiful.

Also, if you have your hair up like in the first link, you can wear it that way with or without a veil :)

The woman in the picture of your dress has her hair all up, and I believe this would be the way to go. However, I  also believe that you should go natural - ie, if you always wear your hair down, go for all down or half and half. Just because it is your wedding day, doesnt mean you should go looking like someone else! Try and be as natural as possible.

Just one more point - if you are marrying during a hot month, hair all down could annoy you because it will keep you hotter and if you get sweaty, it could ruin the look! :( Good luck with it, though!! :) :)

  6. First of all, your dress is so pretty :)! I personally think that the example updo(all up) is very sophisticated and simple and will not compete with the gorgeous detail in the dress. Wear it up for this reason, and also because depending on your choice of reception, I'm sure you'll be dancing the night away and won't want all that long hair down your back. Good luck!

  7. I think that I like the look of the updo with your gorgeous dress!

  8. Putting the hair up is a beautiful look for a bride. You should consult with your hair stylist to assist you. Also, if you are wearing a veil, you have to take that into consideration when choosing a style.

  9. your dress is BEAUTIFUL.  but since it does have so much going on i would want to have my hair out of my face so i would go with all up.  and then people can get the whole feel of the dress.  good luck

  10. i like the all-up. your dress is very formal and detailed, so you should go simpler on your hair, like the low bun. it's very elegant, and you will look beautiful!

  11. I honestly prefer it up for weddings as I find it looks fancier and no matter the time of year...dancing and such makes you hot and sweaty and if your hair is down you dont want to run the risk of it frizzing.  I was married in March on a snowy day and I was still very warm during the reception and ceremony.  my hair was up and it never moved, frizzed or anything.

  12. The way I'll wear my hair has been dictated by my headpiece.  For several generations the women of my family have worn a headband.  I am lucky enough to get to wear the same headband they have all worn, so my hair will be down with a headband...

I always thought a bride should look like herself only 10 times more marvelous on her wedding day.  If you wear your hair up often, then wear it up or vice versa!

  13. I prefer the updo with dresses like this...beautiful, classy, timeless.  You'll look beautiful!  Best wishes!

  14. 1st or 2nd :)

  15. it is depend to ur wedding dress.. try to think, which of those hairstyles are suitable to ur dress,.. after that, believe me.,, its very beautiful..

    ^.^

  16. its your day its all about you .... its whatever you want

  17. We have to have a log-in to see those pictures but I guess when in doubt, do both! :) It's the best of both worlds and looks beautiful and classy at the same time. I'm going to wear my hair half-and-half at my wedding.

  18. Hi hun, how do you normally wear ur hair, i wore mine up for my wedding as i feel it looks more glamrours.

    i used this website www.haircomesthebride.com

    Ist picture

  19. Having your hair down is less formal, and more of a hassle. By the end of your reception it might look like c**p.

I would especially wear it up if you are planning on having a veil.

You can always leave out pieces of hair to frame your face.

  20. WHY ASK US?   IT'S YOUR WEDDING, HAVE IT THE WAY YOU WANT IT TO BE............ OR HAVE YOUR FUTURE HUSBAND HELP YOU DECIDE..... I WOULD TAKE PHOTOS OF EACH HAIR STYLE THAT YOUR CONSIDERING & THEN DECIDE,  CUZ YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE IT BE WRONG ON THAT SPECIAL DAY...
