I love my mom to death and i know she'd love to see my ultrasound, but I don't want to lose a really special moment with my husband seeing our baby for the first time. What do you think?

  1. It;s about what YOU and you hubby want/are ok with.

Has Mom asked you and now you feel guilty? Or these are just things running through your head.

Again, it's about what you want, but if it were me I would say its a hubby and you moment at that moment.  You will have a copy to take with you to show Mom and other family members.  Also, there may be future ultrasounds if you could invite her to attend those.

  2. What I did with my first ultrasound was just have me and my fiance go in at first and have them pretty much do the whole thing and tell us the s*x and then my mom, one of my sisters, two of my fiances sisters, and my niece came in that way it was something special for us for a while and then they could experience seeing it too.

  3. I would say take your husband and give your mom a picture of the U/S.  If your husbands ok with her coming along, then that's good, too.  You might also want to check with the facility that is doing the U/S to see who may go in with you, when we went for our first U/S, they wouldn't allow anyone in the room during the test, not even my husband.  I was sooo upset, as was my husband.  They recorded it and then allowed him to come in and see the recording. (I refused to watch while the screening was being done, so we both watched the recording together and "met" our baby at the same time.)

  4. you should have your mom there too! She might have her feelings hurt if you dont invite her too! im sure ur husband would understand that its ur child but also her grandchild too

  5. Its a great moment for you and your Hubby.  There will be many many other times that your mom can come.  The first ultrasound should be shared between parents :)

  6. um i would think to just have your husband there. you are going to get a couple more of them through out the pregnancy. Like i had my mom there the second one cause my husband had to work but the ultrasound that we found out the s*x it was just my husband in the room and my mom stayed in the waiting room. Thats a really important one.

  7. You should take your husband. If your going again, take your mom with you. So you can have the best of both worlds. (:

  8. Take the hubby. It was just me and mine for the first one...after that the family totally took over in coming to them all [I've had 3 soo far] XD

Besides...the first one is very special! But, the 5 month one to find out the gender is too! She can always come to that one.

  9. i had wanted my mom to be there and i asked my hubby if that was OK and he said yes. i also have younger siblings that range from 20 years old to 4 years old but they were all in school except the 4 year old so she got to come to it was so exciting to have them all there my sis was so happy to see the baby and even got to have her own pic. just talk to your hubby and see what he says

  10. When I had my ultrasound for my first child, my husband, my mom and her husband were in the room. It was very special for all of us because my mom and her husband never went to one of their grandchild's ultrasound.

  11. I would personally just have your husband... Its a wonderful moment to see what you created and the look on his face will be priceless expically if its you first child and he might not get that look if your mother is there!!  Its truly an amazing moment!  I will never forget my husbands eyes!

  12. That is really only a question you can answer. You can do either though. It depends on whether or not you want her there too or if you just want it to just the 2 of you.Your call.I let my mother come & it isn't that I regret it because I don't.I do think that next time it will just be me & hubby..Go by your feelings.Your mom should understand either way & if she doesn't oh well..Sometimes you just gotta hurt them.

  13. You can talk to your OB about fulfilling both wishes. Ask that your husband be the first person to see the baby, but when you are finishing up allow your mother in. Otherwise it is most important to share it with your husband.

  14. When my oldest daughter was pregnant her and her husband both wanted me there and I was thrilled! It was a very special moment for all of us to share and I am so glad they included me... but if you are unsure ask your husband

  15. i had just my boyfriend at my first one and my mom and sister and boyfriend at my next one then just my boyfriend at my last one

  16. Talk to your husband about it. If he wants it to be just you two, respect his wishes. If he doesn't care either way, ask her to come along.

  17. It was just me and the baby's father at the ultrasound. I figured it's a special, intimate moment, and we wanted to share it with one another and not anyone else. Well... besides the ultrasound tech. ;o) He has also decided he only wants it to be us in the delivery room.... we'll see. ;o) I get the feeling I might want my mommy. ;o)

  18. Why not have both?  If you can only have one, then I would take my husband, considering it is his kid.  Grandma to be can always see the pics and the video.

  19. if you can have both them have both if not and only the one have your hubby there it is his kid any way

  20. I always took my mom too ( bt if you choose not too, you can ask them to tape it on video some will and some wont you also could always have hubby take a video of it that way you catch your expressions. Take mom and have her tape the three of you.

  21. Many times, they'll only let one person in with you, if any.  However, it's not very much money, and you can obtain a video of it, that way, you'll be able to watch it together!  It's also need to share with your child when they're older.

  22. You should share your first ultrasound with your husband. It's his child and I is good to keep it as intimate as possible. She can go on the next few but Im pretty sure your husband wanna be there for the first ultrasound. You shouldn't be picking and choosing, you should already know who to pick. You and your husband have a family now, not you your husband and your mom.

  23. Girl, you should have your baby daddy and your momthere because you just should. but i really think that you and the baby daddy should go. you ******* him not your mom. But just have both of them go. one can sit in the waiting room, while the other with you. goodluck.

  24. just take the video to moms house and then share it with her...keep it simple for your husband and yourself...that is what I would do

  25. Why on earth would you want you mother there?

It's your's and your husband's baby, keep it that way and keep your mother at arm's length from day one, or she will interfere for the whole pregnancy, and beyond.

  26. my husband couldnt be there for mine so i took my mom and she was amazed. not only because you see the baby and hear the heart beat all that kind of stuff, but because her baby was having a baby. i would take both though if your husband can make it he can see what he helped make! congrats!

  27. I definitely think your husband should be there.  Would he have a problem if you also invited your mom along?  Find out if you'll be getting another one later on and have your mom go then.

  28. I would just have your husband.

Remember, it's not a social event, it's a medical exam. If, heaven forbid, they find something is wrong, you and your husband will need time and space to take it in and decide what to do - and while you might well want to ask your mum's advice, it's not her decision because it's not her baby.

  29. my mom wanted to be there for her first grandchilds US but its a mommy daddy moment!! take you hubby no questions asked!!
