Should I hire someone to clean my house.?

I don't have a lot of extra cash but I have even less extra time. My husband says no but I was thinking of hiring someone just to come on time per month and do the really nitty gritty stuff. I work 40+ hours a week and I want to spend my weekends with my son. Is this selfish?

It is wonderful having a cleaning person however don't count on them doing the knitty-gritty but rather the top cleaning and the knitty gritty can be yours to do when you do have time, like even 2 hours a week deep clean one area.   i asked my family, husband and 2 kids to help me one hour a week all at the same time, after 2 weeks of just the one hour my husband said, hire a cleaning person.  perhaps try that with yours.

Yes, absolutely.  You will have more time and more energy to enjoy being with your husband.  A good question to your husband would be:

"Dear, would you rather devote one weekend to cleaning the house with me, or should we hire a cleaning woman so we can all go to the game (or wherever he likes to go) together?"

No, you are not being selfish. I totally agree with you. I also work 40+ hours a week and want to spend my free time with my 2 kids also. You should call around and ask how much it would be. It may be more or less than you think price wise. I'm very fortunate that my daughter helps me around my house. :)
