Speakers are

4 ohm = 300w max rated 150w rms x 2

Amp is

1200w max

I believe 300w rms.

  1. I agree. Match the rms of the subs to the amp. The Kicker ZX 300.1 mono amp would be my suggesting.

  2. NO, you should never hook up CEA-compliant equipment to non CEA-compliant equipment because you have no way of properly matching your RMS wattages

CEA-complaint means that the amp can produce or exceed the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion and that the subs can handle their rated RMS wattages

(sound storm is very over rated, you would be lucky to get half of the advertised RMS wattage and it would more than likely be distorted- which is the main cause of speaker damage)

all you care about is RMS wattage (peak and/or max should never even come up) and you need to make sure that the amp has the nessacary RMS wattage at the proper impedance (ohms)

if your sub needs 300watts RMS @ 4ohms and you send it 300watts RMS @ 2ohms you would have damaged the sub from a lack of wattage

If you send too much power to your sub, you risk damaging it. The cone of the speaker and the mechanical parts that make it move may break under the stress. Surprisingly, too little power can also damage your subwoofer — in fact, it's actually more common than damage caused by overpowering.

When the volume is turned up and the amp doesn't have enough power, the signal becomes distorted, or "clipped." This distorted signal can cause parts of the speaker to overheat, warp and melt. Not good!

You don't have to match speaker and amp wattages exactly. An amp with a higher output than the speaker's rating won't necessarily damage the speaker — just turn the amp down a bit if you hear distortion from the sub and don't run the speaker at extremely loud volumes for lengthy periods. Likewise, you'll be OK with a lower powered amp if you keep the volume down and don't feed a distorted signal to the sub.

    here are the CEA-compliant brands

    Alpine

    Bazooka

    Blaupunkt

    Clarion

    Eclipse

    Infinity

    JBL

    JL Audio

    Kenwood

    Kicker

    MTX

    Pioneer

    Polk Audio

    Rockford Fosgate

    Sony

  3. If your information is correct I would say all you need is a box and some wiring.  The amp is matched with the speakers.  I would wire them to 2ohm if the are 2O stable which I believe the comps are.  Then have fun maybe a little dynamat I know CVRs hit so comps will probably do something.
