Should I join Waterpolo?

I'm an incoming sophmore and from my last year P.E swimming class, my teacher said I'm a fast swimmer and she recommended me to the swim team for next year. Well, if I'm going to join a swimming sport, I rather join Waterpolo.

I will admit, I was the fastest in the swimming class last year and I can tread for about 15 min without resting. So I think I can be an avarage waterpolo player, plus I can always practice over the summer, I have a swimming pool.

But here's the thing, I would join but I'm shy on showing myself on public. I dont have a large belly but I do have a belly. My b***s little saggy.

well thats not the main reason...I know that in Waterpolo you were tights, and you can see the size you know, lets just say I dont come with a big package..

see the thing is, I really want to join, my brother was in waterpolo and he said it was really fun, I'm willing to better myself if I do join. But I'm not sure if I should

Honestly, would you join? I just need an opinion..

thx

  1. you should give it a shot, eventhough George Carlin said it wasnt a real sport, and its incredibly cruel to the horses, but HEY! forget about what people might think, you worry too much!

  2. being a fast swimmer is only part of it and your going to have to tread water for way more than 15 minutes.  but about the other thing you'll lose your belly playing water polo, the rest of you body will be under water anyway.

  3. I'd totally recommend water polo.

    BUT I'd also recommend swimming.

Water Polo takes a LOT of endurance to be able to play it.  At my high school, swim team was just the pre-season for water polo.  I'd guess that after a year of swimming and water polo, your "belly problem" would resolve itself due to all the work you have to do just to keep up.

In Water Polo, you do wear a speedo, but its one of the Guy Codes that

-nobody looks at other guys' packages

Chicks might look, but if they're checking you out, that's usually a good thing.

I joined my water polo and swimming teams when I was a sophomore, and had made varsity on both teams by senior year.  I liked water polo so much that I kept playing on my college's team.

  4. go for it. and most of the time, no one will b able to c ur "package"

dont worry about it. just go for it

  5. Dude water polo is an amazing sport and you will have lots of fun playing especially if your fast. I can't help you with package thing i never had to worry about if you know what i mean, but you shouldn't care whether you have a big package or not people don't really care and plus your in the pool most of the time so you don't even have to worry.

  6. in the words of nike,

    just do it.

don't do swimming unless you really want to become a better water polo player.

i would suggest to practice treading water,

games are usually around thirty minutes (without stops for fouls, timeouts, injuries, etc.).

also remember that you can use only one hand in water polo unless you want to play goalie.

i'd also look up the rules or ask someone that has played in the last two years to explain the game to you.

the rules might have changed from the last time your brother played.

  7. If you want to, do it. If you don't, that's okay, you don't have to.

  8. i wuld totally join!
