Should I join a club my first semester/friend help?

This is my first night in college. Should I join a club/sport like soccer my first semester in college? My major is engineering if that helps.

I'm new to this college thing, so I'm wondering where the majority of your friends come from and how do you exchange cell phone numbers in college?

My roommate is from China and has been here early since August 5th. Plus, he knows 14 other Chinese freshmen because they met at the international orientation, so he appears to already have a group (a group that speaks only Chinese when they're together).

What should I do for friends?

Your roommate set a good example for your. Its almost completely guaranteed that you will find new friends in a club because in most clubs you have to communicate with people ofcoures and thus make new friends. Trust me, Everyone makes friends in clubs so I highly recommended that. And don't just stop there! join other clubs that interest you.

clubs , you will meet a lot of people and not all

the same background but studying what you are

so there's a bonus for you
