So I want to join my local waterski show team, it's been a dream of mine lately. My family has done it, and I just want to do it badly. Thus, I don't know anyone on the team, so I would be alone. I'm 15. I'm debating if I should or not because I'm soo shy around guys. Cute ones. I know it sounds corny but it's true. I weigh 150 pounds, and I'm scared I'm too fat. I would like someone to help me out with my decision, and possible someone I can talk to about. I hope some of you understand what I mean. And thank you (:

  1. well if you re a good water skiier that shouldn't matter now should it, and the point of the sport is to enjoy the sport, not socialize, but nah dont worry about weight =]

  2. no apparently not, since you have to ask strangers.

  3. I think you should, because it would be a great way for you to make friends. If you are wary of your weight, try working out with some of the guys on the team, or just don't worry about it. I'm about the same age as you and I know that all most all guys are worried about how they look, so you aren't alone! :) Your family can also help you since obviously you've said that they all do it! Hope this helps!

  4. When I was your age, many yrs ago, my neighbor taught me to barefoot, jump, trick and slalom. I grew up on a lake in upstate NY. He was in several ski clubs and I used to travel with him in his 'vette convertible and put on ski shows. It was a great time in my youth. Don't let the opportunity pass you by. By all means join. You will be able to contribute and learn as well. Ask your family for some pointers and concentrate on the skiing aspect. I think you'll have a good time.
