At age 30, I am thinking of joining the police. Does anyone know why this is a good idea? Or a bad idea? I know, I know...cops suck... whatever. Any serious reasoning?

  1. There are better police forces for you.  Go back, about two years to the maniac who escaped from a court hearing and abducted a woman.  He killed several people along his angry and deadly path.  The escapee stole a car from the parking building which Atlanta's finest did not think to rope off!  I guess if expressed the full extent of the Atlanta problem, I could get into trouble.  Just NO.

  2. Basically, you have to ask yourself those questions. I mean no one can tell you whether or not it is a bad idea. If it is something that you want to do, then by all means go for it, but I would not base my decision on what others think is a good idea or not. It all comes back to you. There is an excellent website that you should check out. www.policelink.com. They have all types of articles and info about becoming a police officer as well as some profiles of police departments around the country.

  3. No I would not.   Most police are nothing more than armed government sanctioned gangs.    There was a time when being a police officer was considered a reputable profession but that time has long since passed.

If I was you, I would try to find a career where I could help my fellow man instead of harming them.

  4. Yes! It is the best place you could ever work.

    Here are the advantages:

1)You receive a paycheck every two weeks

    2)Two days off a week.

    and the disadvantages:

none, perfect, fantastic, no one ever leaves, never any unhappiness, simply a meadow of flowers.

  5. Not if its Fulton County... Avoid them like the plague...  Sandy Springs, however, that is another story..

  6. with that state of mind you wont get pass the pshyk/poligraogh test 1 whichever comes first, beleive me

  7. No..

  8. I would try the surburban areas. Sandy springs, Roswell, Marietta, Alpharetta. It's much safer and the people you will have to deal with will make your life  much eaiser.

  9. Only in the suburban areas, avoid the core like the plague if you don't like corruption and affirmative action discrimination.
