Question:

Should I join the swim team?

I am a senior in high school and spent my first 2 years on the basketball team, no sports my junior year and am considering joining the swim team. I've gotten straight A's the past 3 years and took on some harder classes this year including some subjects that I'm not good at (spanish and ap english). So I know that I'm going to have alot of homework and I need to maintain very good grades. Being it my senior year, I'm going to have to take SAT's and do college essays as well. My extracurriculars weren't looking too impressive since I didn't do any last year so joining the swim team would help me I think.

  1. i would say no for these reasons.

*you are constantly going to be thinking you need to be skinny because most swimmers are skinny

    *you have a crazy schedule

*practices and meets can make you exhausted

*you don't have much time until the end of the season

  2. i did swimming in h.s.. i enjoyed it. i dnt know wat the girl above is talking about...being obsessed with being skinny? haha

its good exercise! if u have time, go for it!

  3. If you have too much schoolwork to do, I think you should stick with your school work unless your swimming is olympic material, stick with something your good at

  4. If you can fit it into your schedule, I think you should talk to your teachers or parents or wait til college, if you're going.

  5. If you can make sure you keep up with your school work and as long as you are committed to BOTH and not try to join a whole bunch of other things I don't see why not. Just manage your time.
