Question:

Should I just drop out of high school?

I just started my sophomore year at Braddock Senior High. My freshman year wasn't anything to be happy about. I went through some stuff that caused me to do bad in all of my classes. So now I wanted to start fresh as a sophomore & make things right. But on the first day of school things just sucked for me. It's as if I just don't care anymore. The school expects so much from us students not only in knowledge but in money as well. It's hard enough having to save money for ourselves as a family. I feel like I've lost interest in school & would rather do a full time job. Advise?

  1. Even if your not enjoyin your hs experience and not willing to compromise there are some alternatives. I would 100 percent advise continuing an education. If you were willing you could homeschool yourself and learn what you want to learn on your own time. If you went through a tough time you could apply aie for homebound services that the school would provide. There are now online highschools, but depending on your state you may not be able to participate.

You made it this far, 3 more years and you can graduate. That diploma will be worth it and so will the money you will be able to earn. PM if you have any questions I;m an advocate for education and you don't want to drop out just yet

  2. study hard, do your work and don't party to much.

  3. You definitely do not want to drop out of school!  As a sophomore I don't think you are even old enough for a full time job.  Start with that fresh attitude and do as well as you can, if you need help ask for it.  Talk with your school counselor and if you need money for school that you don't have tell the counselor, schools have programs to help with money.  You need a diploma in order to get a decent job when you get out of school.

  4. No, smoke weed do whatever you gotta do, just don't drop out..

  5. I did and Im still paying for it every day.

I have been a factory worker for six years and Im still treated as bad as in high school, nothing has changed for me.

If you stll want to I sugest going into a trade job where you will have a skill for life and eventualy be your own boss.

  6. You're definantly going to want a high school diploma later in life to get a higher paid job. Just think that the money the school wants is going to be paid back with intrest in a few years. Just keep at school for a while more, it was only the first day! Once you get back into the swing of things, you'll find it much more tolerable.

As for money, try to keep a part time job or ask your teacher/adviser about a payment plan or a waiver. Schools can't require people who need finantial aid to pay.

  7. dont drop out of high school. you cant get back in and you'll regret it. Im going into 10th grade too. Just tick with it, I'm sure it will pick up eventually :]

  8. Right now it may seem as if a job would be better but in the long run, in your future, you'll regret dropping out of school so don't do it.  It's a lot easier to get a well-paying job when you have a high school diploma so just hang in there. Maybe get a part-time job or something to help with the money aspect.  Study hard, and don't be afraid to ask for help.

  9. deff do not drop out of school!! its going to be the biggest mistake of your life. like, seriously, alot of work places are now making it mandatory to have a high school diploma if your not currently in school.

plus, youll make tons of more money... just have your friends distract you from what sucks, but dont let them distract you too much.

  10. maybe you need to transfer to a public school, they have lower expectations, your family wont have to pay private school tuition
