I am a high school student. Although I am involved in many things with school and my community, I jot all of my class assignments int he same planner with my other event. So do you think I should keep two planners, one for class assignment and one for my extra-curricular activities.

  1. I find it easier to just write things down in a plain notebook with the date on top of the page that you wrote it down on.  Much simpler and works better than complicated systems of organization.

  2. No one here can tell you what works best for you, try it both ways and see which one you like best.

  3. No, I think you should keep just one.  That way you can see how school projects and community stuff collides, so you can study ahead of time for tests if you have other activities planned the day before a test.

  4. You need to do whatever organization system works best for you.  If it is easier for you to remember everything with one day planner, then just keep one.

  5. One life, one planner. Two planners is just asking for something to become lost or forgotten.

  6. You should use whatever system works for you, but it's usually best to have one master planner.  If you have two separate planners, you might schedule an extracurricular activity without realizing that you have a major test the next day.If you keep everything in one planner, you can tell at a glance EVERYTHING you need to do, no matter what it is for.

  7. i believe you should write it down in one planner as it's easier

but do what works best for you!!

    goodluck

  8. I keep separate day calendars for each business/activity.  I keep four in all.  It keeps me rushing room to room to check each one when someone calls for an appt.

  9. That is a possibility. But to keep confusion, and your carrying load, to a minimum - I suggest just having one day planner.

Get one that is large enough to write several items on each day. Also, I color code my planner - using colored pens or highlighters. You could use a different color for each class (yellow for math, green for science, etc...), as well as (1) other color, like red or black, for extra-curriculars. This way you can easily see when looking from day-to-day what needs to be done. I also use post-it flags to mark important or urgent items so they do not get over-looked.

This may sound like a lot of work, but once you get a good system going it will save you time, and huge headaches, in the long run. I used these techniques in college, and at my former job, and it made all the difference in the world. I wish I had done it in H.S.! (I think you are already a step ahead if you are actually using a planner! Lots of high-schoolers don't.)

    Good luck!!

  10. I wouldn't.  I'd just keep one.  Less confusion that way and no way to miss something or let something fall through the cracks.  If you have two, you'd always have to remember to take both with you and to make sure you check both every day or however often you need to.  One just seems easier to me.  But you need to do what works for you.
