Question:

Should I keep an eye on Tropical Storm Hannah?

I noticed that they changed the projected to path to Hannah and there's a lot of uncertainty but they're predicting it to go towards South Carolina now. I'm on Long Island,NY and I noticed that this path is similar to Hurricane Floyd which we got a direct hit from as a tropical storm back in 1999. But Floyd was a little further west and a lot stronger. But if it strengthens and it makes landfall as a category 2 in the Outer Banks like Floyd did which Hannah isn't predicted to be too far from and make a turn towards the northeast. What are the chances of this happening and it hitting Long Island?

  2. Agreed. There are simularities between the two. To me, hannah seems disorganized and weak, but that could change. Wish I could help you more but I'm not an expert, so don't know the chances.

Try unisys satelite imagery. It shows how organized storms are.

Oh, I have been interested in storms for awhile. My guess would be, long island should be ok.

Hopefully the people in New orleans will be safe as well.
