Should I keep my Voodoo Dolls?

Question

My sister brought me 3 voodoo dolls from New Orleans several years ago.

I heard I should not have them in my home. They seems harmless but, now I am thinking I should get rid of them. I am not sure how to do that either.

I sense that if you get rid of them, bad things will happen.

Please take my advice, if nothing negative has occured within the several years you have had these dolls..DON'T THROW THEM AWAY.

Voodo dolls are harmless. Unless you're planning to take a lock of someone's hair and put a voodoo curse on someone. That is, if you believe in voodoo.

Personally, I would display them using a circle of salt around each of them.  I think regular ol' salt will work, but some purists might say sea salt.  Remember, voodoo only works if you believe in it.  You don't say you've been inundated with bad luck & any way, you own them, presumably, who ever your sister got them from had not "activated" them in any negative fashion, nor did your sister.  And btw, voodoo isn't always negative.  Enjoy your pieces of folk art.

Unless someone has used them to do something to you or you think they have been doing something to you, they should be harmless.

The curses have to be laid on by a priestess, yours are just dolls. If they are interesting, keep them but if you are worried, pour a little whisky on them and burn all three.

Throw them away. That being said, I have a voodoo doll here which is a replica of my EX best friend, and i was shocked because once, i stuck several pins in the arm and then 2 days later, my EX best friend broke his arm skating.

No you shouldn't keep it. It can attract demons to you or your home. All you have to do is throw it away in the garbage.

Ok, so poppets or voodoo dolls are just dolls unless they are consecrated...they cannot be inhabited by demons or anything like that.  If you want to get rid of them, just give them to the salvation army or throw them out...maybe let your dogs have them if you have any.

well i watched a show once and they said you shouldnt have them for more than a year, it causes bad luck

they said if you wanna get rid of them DONT burn them cause that leaves the essence lingering lol whatever that means,

wrap it up and put it in the garbage is my guess...

Ha. I just got back from New Orleans with a voodoo doll, I find no harm in it. The strange woman who sold it to me said black pins are evil and white represent good. I say, load the dolls with white pins and don't think about it again.

Unless you charged up the dolls for use, they should be harmless. However, if you want to get rid of them, disposing of them in whatever way is most comfortable to you would be best.

If you did for some reason charge up the dolls (by sewing the hair of your targets into them, for example; or filling them with herbs and name-papers) you would want to wrap up the dolls in some cloth, and toss them into running water (like a river or ocean) or bury them.
