It is a MK 12" indoor sub woofer with a built in amplifier . I was wondering if I should keep it plugged in when I'm not using it. There is power switch and am not sure if it is eating up electricity or there is just a little light in the back to let you no that you have power.

thank you

  1. only unplug it if you will not be using it for a very long time! it is just on standby current, which is very minimal. constantly unplugging it is hard on the storage capacitors! as long as it is protected by surge protection, always leave it plugged in. if it is not unplug during weather events/ electricity problems only! BIG-G,,,

  2. many subwoofers came with an auto-sense function that when it sense audio it turns on automatically, and any electronic device put in standby mode will consume power little or much it will consume so if your concern is save energy then turn the switch off and on when use it.
