I am an only child and my parents told me I have to take care of it all by myself and its hard. I had the chihuahua for 6 days and I am h**l of tired and I don't get any sleep because of its whining. I want to sell it but its so cute when I look at it but too much work and no time for school work or friends. I've spend about $50 on supplies and I am just exhausted. It always barks at other people really loud and I have no time for my own hobbies, so please help me out.

  1. This is why CHILDERN should not have puppies. You wanted the dog now you have to take care of it. If you don't want it take it to a no-kill shelter. You won't get any money but that is what you get for buying something without thinking. Obviously you are not responsible enough to have a puppy. The pup deserves a better home then what it has so bring it to a shelter.

  2. I am so irritated at your irresponsibility and immaturity to even give you  "real"  answer. How selfish... Your parents should be ashamed too... they should have known you well enough to know that you would get tired of taking care of a puppy...what an injustice to the dog.

Hopefully it will find it's way to a responsible pet owner.

  3. When you got it you made the comitment to care for it. what if you sell it then, that person sells it and it ends up at a puppymill? or getting abused everyday? would you want that to happen to that cute little dog? if you decide to seel it you need to make sure it gos to a good home only...or you might be on you tube in a couple months and see pics of your little dog on one of those STOP THE PUPPYMILLS  videos.

  4. NO!!!! You bought a dog which is not just a purchase, it is a life long commitment. You bought the dog so you take care of it.

  5. When you get a puppy, you are making the commitment to be responsible for that puppy's health and welfare. That includes proper training and care. If only six days has you wanting to get rid of it already then you should never have gotten a puppy in the first place. Simply by asking this question, it shows you would much rather give it up than take the time and effort needed to care for it. I suggest you have your parents find a good, caring home for it.

  6. wow, this is why we have an overpopulation of animal shelters. People just buy animals and do not want to take care of them when they learn there is actual work involved. Your parents were very irresponsible for getting you a puppy.

    Ill take it for you.

Your puppy is going to be like this for the next month. Shes just a puppy and is in a new home-its going ot take time for her to get use to it.

  7. welcome to the world of dogs and why we tell kids who ask us how to convince their parents to let them have a dog, that they should listen to their parents.

It will get better.  If you quit now, it shows you have no responsibility towards anything, and your parents will likely not trust you again to not quit anything.  The first week is the hardest... you are both adjusting.  When i first got my lab i got her on a week i didn't have anything to do. She got me up at 6 am everyday.  Just keep with it, show you are not a quitter.

  8. Chihuahua's are a good dog in my personal opinion.  You have only had the dog for 6 days.  Give the dog a chance.  They do become very loyal dogs and you will learn that the more you get to know your Chihuahua the calmer and the dog will become.  You just need to keep trying and don't give up unless you do not think that you will become attached to the dog.  I have one that is very loyal and my kids and my brother have tried to get her to sleep with them but she always wants to sleep with me and is so excited to see me when I get home from work,  She is also excited to see the boys when they come home from school.  Set up a schedule and when you get home from school love on the dog and take her for a walk.  You might also try some sort of obedience school and also search the web for help in training your dog.

  9. don't sell it, you shouldn't have got it f you couldn't look after it .

Just give it time and train it.

Time with friends how bout you all walk it together take it to a park and play, that way you have time with friends and you are socializing your pup.

  10. Well obviously it's hard! It's a real dog, not a stuffed up! I am only a senior in high school and currently taking care of a two month old puppy. Yes, at times I do complain, I never get enough hours of sleep, I get tired of picking up it's p**p, but overall, I suck it up and take it like a responsible owner! Taking care of a dog means giving up on hours of some of you're hobbies! If you can't take care of it, give it to an animal shelter or give it to a responsible owner! I find it infuriating how someone who is as selfish and irresponsible has to give up on a dog who has done nothing to them. What if you were all grown up and had to take care of your own child and were tired of him/her? Would you just sell him/her off to ease you're problems? Compare the child with a dog, they are just the same in many ways!

  11. Oh my word!!!!! Dogs are not shoes, you can't just get rid of them! You made a life long commitment to your poor baby when you brought him into your home. ALL puppies whine during their first week or two home.

  12. You should have realized this when you got the dog.  Most children think that dogs come fully programed to listen, pee and poo outside, and sleep on command.  As you have found out, this is not the case. They take a lot of work and a big commitment on the part of the owner.  You must realize that dogs are not disposable just because they are too much work, or too much trouble.  You made a commitment to raise and care for this animal and now you just want to dispose of it.  You can't do this and this is not how life works.  What are you going to do as you get older and things don't work out the way you expect them too?  Are you going to just give up?  You've had the dog for less then a week and already you are tired of it.  What a shame that you are not mature enough yet to care for a pet and now the animal will suffer because of it.

  13. You made a commitment to get a dog. It's what every dog owner has to go through, puppies are nightmares when you first get them! Nothing is going to change if you get a different puppy, you have to care for it. Not just get rid of it when you've had enough
