Chuckers and quail are pecking holes in the shells and I can hear them chirping. I need to know what to I should do after they are completely out of the shell. Should I use a warming light and keep them inside for a period of time or are they okay outside. How long does it generally take for them to hatch once they have a hole in the egg?

  1. they generally take a couple of minutes maybe 10 to completely come out once thet've made the hole in the egg,if there are parents around you don't need to do anything whe theey hatch as they will dry up and die if you put a light on a new born, the hen usually sits on it and keeps it at the proper temp.if there is no hen aroud I would say use a heating pad under neath the esting area to keep it the proper temp with some humidity to keep it hydrated,it shouldn't eat for at least 8 hours as it has nutrients from the inside of the egg,but hopefully as I said you do have the parets available.good luck.
