  1. There is an old saying in golf. "Steel for feel". I would say this is the way to go with either a 'lite' or 'regular' shaft, depending on you physical make up. I would use a 7 or 8 iron to start practising with and get a pro to show you the correct grip then swing away and have FUN.

  2. Steel shaft.

  3. It doesn't matter much.  You'll get less hand sting with graphite.  As for performance, it's a toss up.  The swing fundamentals should be your focus.

  4. They're steel shafts not iron shafts.  Unless you have a really slow swing, you should use steel in your iron shafts and graphite in your fairway woods and driver.

  5. I'm going to go against conventional wisdom here and suggest graphite. All of the old criticisms against graphite -- less accurate, more torque, too whippy -- have been solved. They're now just as good as steel on those accounts, but with the advantage of being lighter. Lighter means you'll get more clubhead speed and thus more distance.

  6. Steel shafts on the irons...graphite on the driver and fairway woods.

  7. for steel vs Graphite:

Steel are generally a little bit more consistent, and much cheaper. These are a little bit heavier, so it's easier to keep your club on the proper swing plane.

Graphite are much lighter, and you may even find you get a few more yards out of these. Some people say even up to 25 yards. These are a little bit more expensive.

If you do go in for a fitting, the fitter will most likely tell you which one is the better choice(only 4 pings).

but for a beginner i guess for 2-3 years a dunlop iron golf set would be better.

    ENJOY YOUR GOLF!!!
