About a month ago I waxed my board assuming that I would be snowboarding again. Well I never got to it and since I know I wont be snowboarding anymore this year, should I strip the wax off the board or just leave it on over the summer until next november?

  1. No, Just keep it on. Having wax on your board wont do anything bad to it. It will keep your base from drying out. But be careful as to which kind of wax is used.

From experiences, some Flouro waxes sometimes make it even drier if you dont use your board. or at least it looks like its drying it out. cause you have that white residue like you get from toothpaste. (same stuff, Flouride) But almost all board waxes have flouride in them

  2. I would say strip it off because you don't know what chemicals where in the wax and how it reacts to  heat. Just re-wax November

  3. leave the wax on till next season. I usually slap a fresh waxjob on at the end of the season before I store my board for the summer. The wax won't hurt your board, it'll actually kinda protect it. Just strip it and rewax it in the begining of next season. As to wax reacting to heat, you MELT the wax to put it on in the first place, heat won't do anything to it that the iron didn't do, just don't store your board in some place like an attic where it's gonna get ridiculously hot over the summer. Find a nice closet or corner in the house/appartment/whatever to store your board in.

  4. both answers are probably true depending on the kind of wax it is.  Do some research.  Google the brand of wax and see what it says.

  5. You should leave a summer wax on. It protects the board. Best unscraped, but any wax is better than none.

  6. You should actually re-wax it and leave a thick coat on.  I was reading TWS (Transworld Snow), and they recommended rewaxing and leaving a thick layer on.  It allows it to soak into the base and keeps it from getting dried out.  Also protects from some nicks and what-nots.
