I'm 18, going to college, and looking to get some body art on my body. I rather let someone create something original on my body rather then find something on google images or deviant art. My friend reccommended me to this place http://ocleftys.com/. I plan on having one on my upper right breast

  1. bro, go for it, if ur sure of what u want, and u think they'll do  good job, then go ahead!!

  2. if their an well experienced tattoo artist and you like their form of tattooing

  3. any talented artist should be able to whip up a design for you

they will ask you what you want. unless you want to turn over full artistic control to them.

then you get what they give you

go yo myke. he seems to like the more original stuff per the lil bio

  4. First of all, the location sounds real nice. I'm eighteen, too, and I got my first just about a year ago - done on my right foot. Anywho, I'm going to get more, without a doubt, and would like at least one of them to be done using this technique. I see nothing wrong with that. Is that all you simply wanted to know? That's actually a very great, memorable way to get your first tattoo done. :^) I wish you the best.

  5. that isn't a big deal if you ask someone to draw your tattoo, but its design must contains such meaning that you can take pride in not some wierd tats, check this out for tattoos design samples :

  6. It depends on the artist some artist are known for their free hand ability and can do amazing work

  7. When you use the term "freehand", you imply that they will be working without use of flash. So basically, they would just pick up the needle and start tattooing. I'm not sure if that's a great idea, if only because you will not know what it will look like beforehand, placement-wise, etc. I would imagine most tat artists wouldn't like this either, because they don't want the risk of a client not liking it.

Most (if not all) artists will place your design onto tat paper and place it on the location so you can see what it looks like ahead of time (sometimes it's almost impossible to know exactly how it will look without doing this step, so they like to do this too). It's transferred onto your skin just like a temporary tattoo; then when the paper is removed you can look at the design and decide if it looks right, needs to be moved, is too small/big, etc. I highly recommend following this process.

If by"freehand" you mean the artist will draw a custom piece ahead of time, with no use of pre-drawn artwork, and then let you check it out before placing it on tat paper, I say yes, go for it. It's how my piece was done, and I love it - I think that's the point at which tats go from tats to art. As long as you like the artist's work, you have a good shot at getting a piece you love. Work with him/her until you have exactly what you want.
