Should I make brownies or lemon bars for dessert?

Tomorrow, my German side of the family is visiting, and for dinner we are having bread, meats, cheeses, salad, and paprika flavored potato chips.

Should I make brownies or lemon bars for dessert?

If they are 'real' German, then they'd definetly prefer brownies. Trust me. They're prety big over here.

If they're 'next geration germans' they won't care.

How about both ;-)  If there are going to be kids there, they will probably prefer brownies.  My son's friends are all crazy about my "real American homemade brownies."  Lemon bars would be something of a novelty for adults, and I guess for kids, too, if they aren't too tart.  My in-laws love my lemon meringue pie, something they don't have here.

probably too late now, but make some lemon square to enjoy a little something for yourself, it doesn't have to be a special occasion to enjoy a good treat

In the meantrime everyone here in Germany knows brownies but they dont have lemon bars yet so I believe it would be good to present something they dont know yet.

Would you share the recipe for the lemon bars please?

Lemon bars sound good with the extreme heat.  Brownies might be a bit too heavy :)  Plus the paprika chips and cheeses might go better taste-wise with something lemony.

I'm a sucker for both...but i'd say Lemon Bars.  tart and sweet 2 for the price of 1    yummy :P

ugh now i'm craving lemon bars...LOL
