No if he has medical issues, have you brought this up to his doctor? If he is wearing them just because he doesn't wake up to pee then yes stop buying them! Buy a plastic sheet for the mattress.

only if you enjoy washing wet sheets and PJ's daily. And having a really smelly mattress. and having a child who hates going to bed because he KNOWs he is going to wet the bed.

my 12 year old rarely sleeps without goodnites. he still manages to wet through them and he doesn't drink that much at home (from 3:30 pm-9pm). we had him tested by a pediatric urologist. His bladder is not the size it should be. It is only about 2/3 of normal size. we don't know when or if it will catch up.

no you should not force him to stop sleeping in them - especially not if he's still having accidents. If he hasn't had an accident in a while, ask him if he wants to try not wearing them for a while, see if he feels ready. If you make him to stop wearing them, it may cause him to have more accidents, and other problems.

You shouldn't "make" him, but you should explain why he SHOULD wear them and explain that it's only temporary and only at night.

not if he needs them.  it is more common than you might think for kids to use them.  my 9 year old needs them, due to a medical problem, but many kids' bodies develop at different rates and it oftem causes problems with the bladder devopment, etc. we have found ways to make sleepovers work and she understands that lots of kids need them and it's not forever.
