Question:

Should I make my friend pay for my computer?

My friend is good at computers, so I asked him to add memory to computer. He tried to do so but he broke my computer by mistake.

Should I ask him to help pay for a new one? Or should I just forget about it since he was just trying to help me?

  1. Don't force him to pay it, but kinda just ask him if he could help you.

  2. Well in employing someone non professional, you have to realize that you are the only one liable for damages. It's a risk you take with these kinds of repairs, so I say bite this one and move on.

How the HECK did he break your computer just by installing memory? That's an incredibly easy task!

  3. Since you asked him to work on it and it was an accident...I would probably bite the bullet on this one....money can make friends enemies real quick

  4. No, he was trying to help you and it was an accident. Don't make him feel bad about it either.

  5. Money will come again. A good friend is hard to find.

  6. What you do is you ask him to fix what he broke. Thats all. He broke it, the apparent computer whiz that he is, he should fix it.

Paying for a new computer? That's a stretch. He should only repair what he broke and not bear the burden of a new computer.

But to the people telling you to do nothing: what the heck is the matter with them? Your friend damaged the computer. A "whoops, at least I was a saint trying to give you more memory".

Id ask your friend, at least, to pay to fix the PC. Thats not an unusual request.
