My husband and I constantly arguing about moving. We moved into our condo several months ago to discover the neighbors can be a little noisier than we would prefer at times. The building is pretty solid, but it is wood frame, and mostly what we hear is the door slamming. I say that if we move to a concrete building the noise of any slamming will be reduced significantly, but he says it's not worth the move. So I would love to hear from some people who live in a concrete building to tell me if the expense of selling and moving is worth it.

  1. dont move.

  2. MOVE NOW GET OUT OF THERE

  3. dispose of the problem

  4. i don't live in a concrete building, but maybe your neighbors just slam the door too hard. you should kindly confront them and ask them to shut the door a little softer. if they do and you can still hear the door close, then you know it's not them.

if it greatly bothers you, than by all means move. but if you can deal with it, i'd recomend that you stay because moving is a lot of work and time.

also, moving into a concrete condo still doesn't garentee that your new neighbors will be any better. you may not hear the door shut anymore, but they may do something else that bothers you.

i guess you need to decide exactly how much this bothers you and go from there.

    Good luck either way!

  5. i live in wood too. but i think that you should wait until you know for sure. nowadays, houses are almost a million dollars (well, at least where i live) and its hard to find a house without problems. like my house, we have some cracks on the roof. we have to fix beucase its kinda old.

if your neighbors are annoying you, please tell them. they will feel you are comfortable enough with them that you can at least talk to their problems!! :)) at least talk respectfully.

i can tell you that it might not be worth taking the move. it took my parents like 20 years to FULLY pay our house. and some people about 50. and with the move, there might be more problems!

feel lucky that you at least have a shelter to live in. and there are other homes in other states with homes worse than neighbors being loud. be lucky that you dont have rats, etc. welll at least i hope you dont and i dont either. and i feel lucky.

i may not know much about you and others becuase im only in middle school, but feel lucky. :))

    hope this helped.

    rethink about it.

do you really NEED to move?

  6. Wood frame buildings are notorious for conducting sound waves.  I do not know your locale however in Canada there are quite stringent codes for sound proofing.  For instance I recently viewed a condo as my wife and I are looking for a new home and the builder informed me about the sound proofing.  It consisted of drywall, vapour barrier, insulation, 3/4 particle board faced to a concrete wall.  Same thing on the adjoining unit..Very quiet.  Good luck, www.e-zpoolcare.com
