Ok i'm fed up with America. I can't actually believe i'm saying this, but I want out of this terrible country. I was born and raised in Chicago. I am now 22 years old. I'm tired of this government, and all the idiots in politics. Just set my age aside, the money it will cost etc.. What is England like? Do you have stupid politics? Laws? I hear a lot of violence is happening there now.. What makes England better than America? Thank you.

  1. england is the best place to live.  my family lives there, and i am super jealous!  i am going to move there when i am an adult.  everything tastes so much better there, but the down side is everything is more expensive.  still, i would definitely move there right now, if i could.  there is less violence there then in america, and the laws are fair.  as for the politics/politicians, they are more reasonable then here.  england is wonderful!  leave this idiotic country and move there now!

  2. Move to Scotland.

In a few years, England will be submerged in water, whereas Scotland will have more land mass!

    Plus, America's huge?

Why move to England when you've got the whole of America to explore?

And not much violence. In Scotland, anyway.

But the politics is a bit rubbish at the momont, whet with the "independant Scotland" thing the SNPs are introducing...

    =)

  3. Nothing makes England better then the USA, the weather is always s**t, the law is some what s**t also, not many attractions, gets boring, stuck up people, i would recomend you should move to another state or city, gl in what ever you decide to do.

    Eros!

  4. I moved from England to Florida 8 Months ago.  England is going down the pan according to my Family. Houses are very expensive in comparison to US, you get little for your money.  We left behind a 3 bed, 2 bath terrace house and with the exchange rate got a detached 5 bed 4 bath backing onto a lake.  The exchange rate would s***w you from the start.  The weather is probably not that different from Chicago apart from much less snow. The laws are definitely not fair, crime is on the increase but the justice system is pants.  How can a child abuser who admitted 13 offenses to children as young as 18 months, walk free because he said sorry and because he is a religious person.  Crime is going up but not as serious crimes as america.  Where we live in Florida, a cashier at a gas station was shot and killed, it's very rare to hear of those sort of crimes in england.  Knife crime is the biggest growing crime.  I'm sure america has it's fair share of idiots ruling the country, I've not been here long enough to have been effected by their decisions. Explore other countries first and research all aspects.  I wish I had done that before moving to Florida. (am very home sick at the moment (despite england being in turmoil) I miss my family and friends). But hey having said all that, you only live once, do what your heart is telling you to do, if it doesn't work out, at least you tried.  It will be something to tell the grand kids!!  Good luck.  Any US advice would be appreciated x

  5. being a Non Eu Citizen, you may struggle to get the Visa's to gain entry and be allowed to work in the UK

we are a bit overcrowded in the UK, and this has meant that new measures have been put into place to try and only take the best immigrants in

you will have to prove that you have skills that we need in this country, as you have to enter a points system. Gain enough points and your in :-)

as far as England is concerned. it's nothing special, it's Ok,a  bit boring, overcrowded, not enough job and houses for it's own people, and it's turning very violent, it's incredibly expensive to live here and we are run and taxed to death by a shambles of a government who couldn't organise a P*ss up in a brewery, but enough of the negatives, it does have some positives. such as the countryside and culture history and the like, I'm proud to be English and British, but this country is on a slippery slope down at the moment. I just hope it can be turned around

a lot of Brits cant wait to get out and are leaving by their thousands each year, and i can't really blame them

  6. were friendly

    we talk great

we have great music ECT Klaxons, The Kooks, Lostprophets and OASIS

    we have...... BRITISH BULLDOGS WOOOH

    proud to be here

come and join us and we'll party with music

  7. I left the US and moved to England and have been here four years and I can safely say that people are NOT leaving by the thousands as the Daily Mirror and other tabloids would have you believe.  I think I made the right move.  Yes, there are downsides/negatives but not as bad as these other gits would have you believe.

It is a beautiful country with many opportunities.

One person said that people were flocking out, well it looks as if people from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, and other western nations are moving here so that should tell us both something.

    Good luck.

BTW, it is NOT expensive to live here.

  8. OK, we have the history and stuff, but we are paying the equivalent of about US$8 per gallon for unleaded petrol and being ripped off everywhere we turn by government, businesses and utilities. Our Big 6 utilities suppliers are just working through a 30-35% raise in gas (natural gas for cooking and heating, not gasoline) prices!

Good idea to get out of the USA (IMHO), but in all honesty I can't recommend this little island as a better option.

I'm tempted by Australia and/or New Zealand.

  9. The cold crisp winter mornings in the countryside & the old rustic pubs where you can sit around an open fire. And real english food, like real fish and chips, the big english breakfast, and the sunday roast! Englands history and culture is worth witnessing too! The best parts of England have got to be Cornwall and Devon or Staffordshire Moorlands but you have to visit London aswell.

I reckon you should try England, your 22 you have time to try it and then if you dont like it go back to America.

  10. I'm afraid English politics is too heavily influenced by the USA. Blair allowed us to be dragged into these stupid wars in Afghanistan and

Iraq against the wishes of most people.

England has joined the USA in recession now. The sub prime mortgage fiasco in the USA has had a terrible effect on our banking system and home loans

There is more violence but it has not reached the level of the USA yet.

Our schoolchildren don't massacre each other.

You may also find things more expensive than in the USA

  11. Why specifically England? Not to be rude, but I think that anywhere but the States would be a vast improved. I'm in Canada and I absolutely love it. England definitely is a beautiful place, though. I have a sister living there and she loves it. Keep your options open, though. The world is huge with plenty of living opportunities.

  12. England has just as much corrupt and stupid politicians, we have bad weather, high tax, stupid laws, a housing CRISIS ($240,000 / £120,000 for a small flat/house in a bad area), and not a lot of entertainment.

I'm actually looking at moving to the USA in a few years -> specifically California - maybe you should try that and i'll see you on the beach!?
