Well, that depends on you personality. But, I currently live in Eagle River, AK and it sucks and I can't wait to move (military). Everyone told me how great it would be but it's not! The winters are 9 to 10 months long and completley awful. Dark all the time! Then, the summer the sun is out all the time but it's usually covered by clouds. There are maybe 2 to 3 weeks total in the summer on average of nice weather (and the days that make up those weeks are spaced out). That's my opinion but most people who come up here to really live hate it.
