Thing is, I like where I am at but I do not feel I am getting a good deal. Where I live, they used to include heat but they stopped last year. Its an older building and its steam heat and they told us they can't indivdualy meter each unit, so.... They take what the building used and divide it up by unit(1br pay less, 2br more..) but it seems like your still paying for someone elses use.

They take the gas bill and tack it on to the rent each month so you never know what its going to be(my rent is 459$ a month before gas). My gas bill was 34$ this month and this is july!! For a 1br apartment theres no way I used that much. I hate to move Ughgain... but this seems like rip off. Maybe its time to find a cheaper place.

  1. speak with a mortgage lender and real estate agent.  buying a home or condo would be a wiser investment.

  2. Hold on....you were leeching off the LL when he was paying the freight for all y'all to keep the lights on willy nilly...now that its on you now it's too much....WTF is that?

doesnt gas heat the water for your 12-20 min shower?? how bout taking a quick "navy" shower and help keep those costs down!!

  3. I'd be PACKING and Moving ASAP ....

Think of the $$$$ that you will save in the long run ....

I doubt what your landlord is doing is actually legal ; BUT it would cost you more to fight it than to move and be HAPPY ....
