The insurance company has sent me a letter telling me to go see a QME.It says Based on LC 4061 and LC 4062, we are objecting to the opinion established by your treating Dr. in regards to the nature and extent of the medical treatment. They are approving for me to see a surgeon but then i get this letter. Im confused. Should I go get an attorney now or what?

  1. Nope, it's too early for you to give money away to an attorney.

I think you should get the second exam they're requiring - if THEIR guy agrees with your guy, problem solved.

Bottom line, they're just asking for a second opinion.

  2. They want a second medical opinion.  It is their right to ask for that.

  3. By, all means contact an attorney that specializes in this type of law. Contact you legal aid society and see about getting a free consultation with an attorney. See what is recommend. It is best to know your rights.
