  1. Carry on! But, since it is digital, remember that the memory card can be erased by the x-ray machines. Everyone will tell you that it can't happen, but I've known four different people that had it happen to them, and then my husband lost our Florida trip pictures and videos. Just take the card out and put it in your pocket.

  2. definitely

  3. If you pack it in your carry on, you know you have it, but you have to be able to prove it works - batteries charged, etc.

If you put it in your checked luggage, it may disappear due to theft or incompetance.

  4. keep it in your carry on

expecially if you are going somewhere out of your country or going to a poorer place,

i got my camera stolen from my suitcase.

keep it in your carry on so its always with you.

  5. definately carry-on, checked luggage gets bounced around so much there is no guarentee that it will be safe.  And don't worry about them scanning the camera, it won't harm it at all.  Also expect that they may ask you to turn it on to prove it is a real camera (doesn't happen often but they may ask that).

  6. for sure put it in your carry on because you can keep a better eye on it and everything. There's always a chance that you'll lose your luggage and if your camera is very important to you, you should consider taking it along in your carry-on bag
