Should I park in NYC or take the train from NJ?

I am taking a train from NY penn station, driving in from DE. My options are to either park my car in Queens, NY or take NJ transit from metropark station. I am a little hesitant to take the NJ transit, because I am not sure of its on time rate, because the gap between the time my train arrives at Penn Station, and the departure is close. Any advise?

  1. I'm not really sure what you're asking.  You're coming from Delaware to catch a Amtrak train at Penn Station?  If so, why not get on Amtrak at Wilmington and avoid the drive through NJ?

In general, I would leave at least 30 minutes to go between commuter trains and Amtrak trains at Penn Station.  The commuter train could be late, and it could easily take you 10 minutes to shift between platforms, given the crowds.

  2. i would park in NJ and go much earlier than planned cuz.. the NJ transit it gets delays sometimes....!
