Should you participate in the American Legion Auxiliary's Girls State program even if you are not interested in government or politics and does the program require a lot of work? I'm really burnt out from school and APs and don't want to have to go do this program right when summer starts- should I stick it out so that I can put it on my college resume (I want to study to do computer programming)? It seems very Girl Scout-esque to me... is this a false pretense? This is not something I want to do and I strongly dislike the other girls from my region that are going, but if it's worth it just to put on my resume then I'll stick it out. Help!

  1. There is no harm in trying if you have no other activities in summer.  Working with a group will add up to your qualification.
