Should I pick a color or a theme?

Question

I have a theme pick out for my wedding? But I like the color Pink, dark brown and ivory or cream. Should I have both or should i just pick one. If I do the theme should I have two colors or three. What do you think. Not sure how this would work.

i like those colors you can always have an ivory dress with pink ribbon and still do your princess theme too i mean after all themes need color too...

Originally I just had a theme and no colors but was having a lot of trouble with since there are so many things you need to pick a color for.  I would recommend doing both, a theme and then a small range of colors.

As a wedding planner, I have seen 3 colors.  The colors you have chosen are beautiful together.

Your color choices are beautiful.  Just stick with those.  If you do a theme, that's just going to complicate things.  I have planned many weddings and parties.  When you have a theme, you end up purchasing things that have the theme character on them, and it comes off looking junky after while.  Your colors would give you a good base- the pink is pretty, the brown is earthy, and the ivory is neutral.  Sounds great!

i've never understood this trend of having 'themes' for weddings so i am at a loss there but i think pink and white are beautiful together and would look stunning with a deep rich brown!  just watch your choice of brown as some browns are very drab and flat!

I love your theme it's the same one I used.

I incorporated the castles and the horse and carriage on the invitations, the ring pillow and the set that you show is the same one I bought.

I love the colors that you chose and they look gorgeous together.

You can do so much with the Princess theme.

Pink,Ivory and cream will go well together. Why not have your bridesmaids wearing pink, and you go with an ivory/cream dress with pink flowers?

My dress was the basis for all the rest of the colours lol. As it is ivory and gold, the groom/best man/bridesmaids are all wearing gold, whether it be waistcoats or dresses, and I'm having very simple white and goldish colour flowers.

my favorite colors are brown and blue together, maybe you could try that since you like the colors of dark brown and ivory. i think thats a good choice in my opion. =D

Themes are cheesy and not necessary.  Stick with a color scheme.
