Should I play Metroid Prime 2 before 3?

I got the original Metroid Prime a few months ago, and it was awesome! I want to get my greasy (jk) hands on Metroid Prime 3 ASAP. Is it recommended that I play Metroid Prime 2 before 3, or can I just go straight to 3? In other words, will there be any information I missed if I play 3 before 2?

Nah. I played Metroid 3 just fine and I didn't need any other info. I heard 2 wasn't as good as the others too.
