In order to get braces I need to pull out four of my teeth (two from the top, two from the bottom) otherwise my teeth can't be pushed back.

What are some disadvantages of pulling out perfectly good teeth??!

My mum think its horrible and doesn't want me to get it done but I really want braces.

  1. I had to have 6 pulled when I got my braces.  The reason that they have to do it is because your mouth is to large for the size of your teeth.  As far as i know there is nothing wrong with doing it, besides don't think of it that way.  Just think of how great your smile will look after the braces come off.  For me it was well worth it and I would do it all over again.

  2. i dont think there is a disadvantage.  braces are one of the best investments you could do for yourself. if you have to get teeth pulled there is a reason why.  i had about 8 teeth pulled before i had my braces. i mean braces suck but it was the best decision ever.  it has helped me in job interview and socially.  dont listen to mum. listen to dr.

  3. get it done....i did and it doesn't even hurt!! just a bit of blood. and the sooner and younger you are when you get braces, the quicker they will straighten your teeth.

  4. It won't even hurt. They numb your gums so you can't feel a thing. I had to pull out 5. I was only 13 then. I was scare to death. but then I saw magazines of women having perfect teeth and have a beautiful smile and I just got it over with. Now Im 16 and have a perfect smile to show off!

  5. It's perfectly fine to pull out teeth (even if they're permanent) in order to make room for the extra teeth to be pushed back when getting braces. It doesn't debilitate your eating in any way, no ones going to count your teeth, and it doesnt hurt a bit (actually it does hurt slightly but whocares?)

ANYWAY, if that's the only reason stopping you from getting braces (which cost an awful lot for your information), you should get them (even though your teeth are perfectly fine, you just look like a gold fish and that random chick whose name i dont know when you pout).

    Whatever you choose, good luck!
