Should I quit drinking?

If I get a 2 day hangover from a night out, should I never drink again? I don't think my body likes alcohol at all! I feel like I got punched in the gut and my head is still banging from Sat night. I had 1 double vodka redbull, 1 double gin & tonic, 1 shot of tequilla, yuck! 1 budweiser and 1 glass of white wine. Mixer of disaster really, yes?

  1. Try cutting back and see if that helps.  If it don't then ya gotta quit.  If ya havin' troubles quittin' drinkin' check out AA (Alcoholics Anonymous)

  2. Maybe you should try limiting yourself? Sounds fun and all but you should think about the consequences before and whilst you drink...

  3. nah. Just stick to one drink and for god's sake, do not drink tequila. It's a recipe for disaster.

  4. if you think you have a problem

and if you don't think you have a problem, you're in denial since you've thought about it enough to post this question

    no offense

  5. Should you quit drinking? Only if you want a long, healthy life. Alcohol slowly poisons your organs and other parts of your body.

What do you think your body is trying to tell you when you feel so bad after you drink?

  6. You have to think about what drinking gives you and whether it's worth it.

To make your hangover less intense, don't mix your drinks, get plenty of water (maybe a glass in between each drink) and make sure you eat a good meal before you drink.

  7. yup!!! drinking will not do anything good to your body.........

    maybe sometimes but not everyday.......

  8. Yes. I quit drinking about six months ago and have never felt better. I'm also a size 6 again (down from 12) and have more energy. I got sick of wasting every Sunday in bed feeling wretched, knowing that I'd done it to myself. And I also got sick of feeling guilty every Sunday for acting like a complete idiot the night before. Alcohol is not necessary. Your choice.

  9. well i wouldnt asy never drink alchohol again but certainly don't make it a habit. if you have a 2 day hangover then you should defintaly keep the number of beers low hope i can help =]

  10. just a bad case of mixing drink's.............maybe next time stick to one type of drink.

I think everyone who drinks has said at one point in their life 'i'm never drinkin again' and the next time it happens all over again!!! :-)

  11. try sticking to 1 type of drink. Mixing will absolutely do your head in. I get headaches from 2 glasses of wine, but if i drink vodka all night i'm fine. So see what works. It also helps if you eat something small before PLUS during or after drinking.

  12. quit for 2 months and give your liver a break. try after 2 months and you should be back in action. :) oh and drink at least a litre of water before you go to bed after a big night on it.

  13. I did! after a terrible drunken night I decided to change my life, I stopped drinking and became a healthy person! Nowadays when I go clubbing I just drink water or orange juice, I have as much fun as in the old days and I have no hungover in the morning!

I also realised I didnt like its taste, so if you don't like it why doing it? Do whatever you think suits you more!

  14. if you are going to drink still with one kind ... don't mix, hard stuff with beer AND wine ... learn how to drink and don't do it in excess or by yourself ... if you quit is up to you ...

  15. No, not totally. (:

  16. people are always like "woo beer hard liquor party!" but drinking isn't really that cool. can get expensive, get you into trouble, terrible for your body, and you are associated with douches who like to brag about how drunk they got the past weekend

  17. My friend had a hang ova and omg she kept bein sick like every minute. Well i think u should have a rest but next time u wnna drink, only have a few. ;)

  18. Take a couple of headache pills and drink lots of water.

The maxim when drinking is "Never Mix Grape and Grain".

If you stick to that you should be OK, but if you go out and try and drink a rainbow, you're going to feel ill. And poor.

  19. Lol honey, do not mix!!! You needn't quit drinking but you definitely MUST quit mixing. Mixing is only good for one thing: to drink enough etanol to balance the metanol in your blood (which can blind you) if you feel that you drank something that was badly destilated - this can happen with home-made alcohol. For 1ml of metanol you need about 10ml of etanol and it kills the effect of metanol. Otherwise, never mix! Just stick to one drink.

  20. maybe not stop drinking but id say never mix wine and beer. thats a bad move right away. I used to feel the effects of drinking for a few days after drinking (proper binge!) luckilly I dont go there anymore but wouldnt say give up totally.

If it happens again I'd suggest you contact a doctor if your worried.

  21. Not if you are a once in a while drinker and not addicted to it. You shouldn't mix things up like that, I learned that a long time ago. Just stick to one type of liquor, beer or wine. And keep it down to a few drinks. Eat something before you go out partying, it will help.

  22. An easy way to control alcohol is to read Allen Carr's Easy Way to Control Alcohol, the best book in the world for your situation!

  23. No.

    Alcohol is toxic.

and does NOTHING to help you.

    if you do drink

    drink a little

    a little.

    dont drink to get drunk

  24. don't drink wine or beer!!!!!!!quit it!!!! drink something like pepsi choclate milk!!!!or jucies!!!!!

  25. if you want to drink spirits with mixers, stay on them all night, don't mix them with a lager or some other drink, as it makes you worse.

Believe me, I know, I've tried!

  26. Surely asking this question means you want to? So, yes! You can have more fun not drinking anyway, I do.. you get to be the one to tell all the funny stories of what your mates did when drunk, because you're the one who actually remembers it!

  27. Yeahh you shouldn't mix that much, I'm always sick when I mix.

So I just keep on my vodka and redbull, yummy! :)

and if you enjoy drinking I wouldn't stop. You know all the risks of drinking I'm sure, so the choice is yours really.

  28. are you kidding? NEVER MIX YOUR DRINKS LIKE THAT LOL you were begging for that one. geez, stick with one or two types of drink per night only!!! its simply not necessary to switch drinks like that, and makes you look indecisive ;) make a plan and stick to it

  29. Your body may not be liking the different mixtures you give it. Vodka and wine do not mix nor are they intended to ever be taken together i.e by the same person in the same day. So firstly, cut down the amount you drink, then if you still want a drink, stick to one type per night. This should help. But also not drinking completely is a good and healthy thing  so if you can, best.

  30. Has anyone ever told you not to mix your drinks?!?!?! I mixed mine on Friday night and still felt a little rough yesterday! Try sticking to one type of drink like wine or spirits and don't mix them and I'm sure you will feel better!!!

You also did a shot which is NEVER good news for a hangover the next day! Don't worry about it as long as you're enjoying yourself and not binge drinking you'll be fine!!!
