  1. The IRS interest rate is only 5%.  Your brief narrative does not sound realistic. Something is missing.

  2. Do you enjoy panhandling?  Do you enjoy wondering where you will sleep this evening?  Do you wonder where your next meal will be coming from?  Do you enjoy being subsidized by hard working Americans who are willing to pay their taxes?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then by all means quit working and let society support you.

  3. You can contact the IRS at (800) 829-1040 and ask that your account be placed in what the IRS call Currently Not Collectable.  While this does not stop the penalties and interest, it does stop the IRS from taking collection actions.

There is a Statute of Limitations on the amount of time the IRS can collect on an outstanding tax liability.  It is 10 years from the date you either filed the return or the IRS assessed additional tax which ever is longer.  After the 10 years the IRS can't come after you for that year.

    Hope this help.

  4. Have you tried getting a tax attorney to try to lesson your debt? They can work with you and the IRS to set up a plan to help you make your payments but still have a life. It's better to get this taken care of and behind you. You don't want this hanging over your head for the rest of your life.

  5. i would get a better job
