Should I quit or not?

I was planning to be in my high school's band, and I am all signed up and ready to play, but the truth is, I don't want to. The only reason I signed up is because my mom wanted me to. I made no friends at the summer band practice, and I had no fun. I hate practicing and I hate marching. Do you still think I should quit now? I'm hoping you'll say yes, but nos are ok too.

i know a lot of people in your position and they all wish they could quit too.  i think if its your parents who want you to be in band you shouldn't do it to fulfill what THEY want.  do whats right for you! =)

Take it from a former band member: waiting is the worst thing you can do. You already have discovered that you don't like to do the things being in the band requires of you so if keeping your mom happy is just going to make you miserable you are probably going to quit eventually, and no time is better than the present.

High school is stressful enough without feeling forced into an extracurricular activity you don't enjoy. Find something else that does pique your interest and do that instead.

Man you dont enjoy it so dont do it, talk to your mum about it.

Yes, just talk to your mom and ask her to look on your side i am sure she will say its ok

try to talk with your mom she will understand that u should not do any thing u dislike ..i am sure

if u have no desire to play in the band then don't. you wont enjoy it and it would be pointless. but you never know things may change and you may end up enjoying it. either way just do what you want. no one can force you to play in the band...or at least i hope not.
