Question:

Should I quit the family business?

I've been working there for a little over 1 year, I don't have benefits and I haven't received a raise, I drive 45 min each way for 3 days a week, and I am in the middle of a manager feud. I'm not happy working there and I want to get into the medical field rather than sell souvenirs over the phone.

Would you quit the family business even though they love you and want you to help them expand? Or would you stay there and go to school, then finally tell them that you don't want to be a part of it?

I'm completely torn on what I should do, so I'd appreciate any help or advice. Thank you.

  1. Well, it is your family and they should understand more than anyone how impórtant your future is. Tell them what your plans are, I think they will understand and support you.

  2. I'd quit that job. And the family should feel lucky that I lasted as long as I did working for them.

  3. If they're your family, they should understand. Just tell them that you want to do something different with your life, and that you don't wish to join them in the business.

  4. IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT THAT YOU HAVE STARTED TO GURU THEM WAY BEFORE YOU WERE DESERVING TO BE ONE! SO stay stupid egoistic a+ and finish what you have started. Dont challenge them to accept you for who you are really they will leave you in a blink of an eye! And pay them for giving up their own spirituality and search just to follow your sweet and lying words of deception. Make sure she doesnt kick them on the street once you are gone. How painful it must be to see yourself in such a miserable position. That is the price for your ego and you being so proud of your wit and seeing all. Now I CAN BE THE GREAT TEACHER! My a+ you can be. Good that everyone seriously spiritual would run like h**l away from her. This is what He did to protect His children from you. Made her into a sign big as sky above that says "This man is not what you think he is and what he wants you to believe, he is just hiding behind his smart cunning words".

  5. Well I would if I didn't like what I was doing. So go for your dream. Not what you think your family would want you to do. Good luck.

  6. I would tell them that the business is not helping you with anything. What is the point of staying when you are not happy with your current business. I say go out, and open your mind and look at the world with a different view of your own. Start your own business and look at your future with your own decision.
