  1. Most States require liability insurance.

If you pay cash for the vehicle - become "self-insured" and pocket the savings.

If your State offers Uninsured Motorist coverage, that might be an option.....just don't load up the vehicle with a bunch of high dollar special equipment - stereos, wheels, etc.

Good luck, drive responsibly and I hope this helps!

  2. Yes, you really should. Even if you do not care about the damage done to your own car, it would really suck to rear end a BMW and have to fork over a couple thousand dollars of your own money for repairs.

Like others said, Liability Insurance is usually required in most states.  But the monthly payments would definitely be worth it if you got into an accident with another car.  Also, Liabilty insurance alone is usually not that expensive.

Also, if you got pulled over without insurance you could be in for some hefty fines and possibly a loss of license.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Yes, you really should.  You should at the very least have good liability insurance.  Liability insurance is required in all states but Wisconsin and New Hampshire.  You will be protecting your entire future in case of an accident and having a claim put on your future earnings.  You will also be protecting all of the rest of us.  Never drive in any state without insurance.

  4. The simple answer to that is yes.  If you get into an accident, and have no insurance, you will have to definitely have to pay any doctor bills and car repairs out of pocket.  That and it is illegal in most states to not have at least liability insurance.

  6. In most states it illegal if you have no liability insurance.  If your states doesn't require liability insurance I suggest you get it.  Liability covers you when you damage someone else's car or injure someone.  So if you cause an accident then your liability insurance will pay for the repairs to the other driver's car and pay their medical bills so you don't have to.  Comprehensive and collision coverage covers your car.  If you have a loan you are usually required to get these.  If you don't it would save you a lot of money not to get these coverages.  However if your car is damaged you have to pay for it.  So you need to decide if you can afford to repair your car if you smash in the front end.  Or if you can afford to replace it if you total it out.

  7. If you're in the UK, then you must have 3rd party insurance as a legal minimum.
