haven't skied in about 10 yrs, but could comfortably handle almost all terrain/levels. But I have never snowboarded! My kids both recieved snowboards for Christmas (neither have ever tried snowboarding). Anyway, My boot broke and I will now need to rent equipment. Should I stick with what I used to know or try something completely new?

  1. try snowboarding. its almost the same as skiing. if your kids received the snowboards you can too. now you and your kids can try.

  2. Since your kids have never gone snowboarding, I'd say go ahead and try something new as well - you can all learn together. Although, depending on how old they are, they might not want to have their mom or dad around! If that's the case or if you won't be staying with them all day, I'd stick with skiing so you can enjoy yourself on the hills :)

Snowboarding is very very different from skiing. I'd recommend your kids take a lesson and if you want to try, take a lesson as well! It can be very painful and frustrating to try and teach yourself how to board. I learned the hard way...

Good luck and enjoy your day on the hill, whatever you decide to do!

  3. FIRST OF ALL Snowboarding is very very different from skiing.

I've been skiing for 2 years and before some days i derided to give a try for snowboard.

It is really great but hard to learn. It was easier for me coz i used to skate and i was able to go on a blue run from the first day.

Choose snowboard it is much better.
