  1. That jet ain't the only thing around here that should SCRAM!

  2. No, unless you have some friendly military pilots and engineers who will re-inforce it for mach 2 and greater, and the pilots to get you up to mach 2 for the SCRAM jet to start working!

  3. Yes, but when I did the conversion on my J-3 cub I had to add some extra stingers to the wings and I re-covered the aircraft with nomex so it wouldnt burst into flames....

The first landing was a little rough, and the cockpit was noisy!!!!

  4. What new C-172 do you have thats faster than 161KIAS?  Is it super sonic that requires a combustion ram-air jet?

  5. sure

  6. Yes - and call it the "Apollo C-172"

  7. Since you're pipe-dreaming, .... knock yourself out!

  8. You go right ahead and do that.  Be sure to invite the NTSB and FAA over to look at your alleged 172.

You might consider playing somewhere else.

  9. Yes, and please fly it low level in the Alps.

  10. no

lets say you can afford it

the airframe of a C172 cannot handle supersonic flight nor the the fuel needed nor the place to mount a SCRAM jet.

also, SCRAM jets ram air into the compressor. SCRAM jets only operated at speeds of mach 2 and up. so you would also need a rocket to propel the C172 to mach 2 before the SCRAM jet would work.

good one, it really made my day.
