Should I retake my MCAT?

Hi I'm a foreign student studying in the US and I hope to get into Med school once I receive my bachelor's degree in Biochem. I took the MCAT and my score is:

11 Verbal 13 PS and 14 BS and O on the writing sample.

I dont really know how the scoring system works at all; I mean I remember there were like 60+ questions in each part... is your total score simply divided by 4?

And is this score competitive enough or should I retake it? The writing sample score worries me...

  1. The scores look fine. Your writing score looks fine. It's for medical school not an advanced degree in English. Language mechnics and writing abilities aren't generally highlighted skills.

  2. I don't think you should retake you MCAT exam. You got really good scores with top scores in PS and BS. The writing sample is good to and the average writing sample score on the MCAT is N so you are above that. I don't think you will have a problem getting into medical school, but if you are still unsure go ahead and take it again and use the best score. Although some schools think it looks bad to take the test more than twice. Good luck in becoming a doctor!

  3. that is an excellent score!!!!!! much better than most american studnets!!! and you even did well on verbal even though english might not be your first language. you are extremely competative. dont worry about the writing sample. work on your personal statement
