Question:

Should I retake the bio regents?

I got a 65 last year on my bio regents - just passing. I'm trying to get into Cornell University, and I don't want to regret not retaking it. I was happy that I didn't have to go to summer school, but I really want to retake it. It's just that I don't want retake it and I fail because by next year it'll be two years since I took biology and I probably won't really remember alot. Reviewing will help but it's not as good as getting it taught to you. And by next year, I'll be a junior getting ready for SAT's and college and I don't want that extra regent (along with the other 5 regents I have to take) to interfere. I didn't really understand anything because I didn't really have a great teacher. My question is: do you think by getting good grades on all the other regents will cover up for my 65? Do you think it's worth risking a failure next year if I take it over? Will it really matter to Cornell (or any college for that matter) that I got a 65 on one regent?

  1. Yes retake it, it will make your gpa higher.....do not take it if you are not prepared for it because your gpa will go down...colleges look at transcripts, which means they will be looking at your 65. There are tons of resources to help prepare for exams. If you are this concerned, you would have already gone to your guidance counselor to see what they could do for you. They may  have a tutor available or what not.

  2. no! unless u know u can do better.
