Question:

Should I run cross-country?

I am considering running with (not really "on" because I'm not planning on competing) my school's cross-country team next fall semester. They have summer training and if I take part I will definitely go to the training.

However, I'm kind of nervous/apprehensive about doing it. I'm not a serious runner and I'm really not in that good of shape (5'10, 150, not much muscle... anywhere, really).

I'm just worried that I will be embarrassed because I won't be a very good runner...

Any suggestions on how I can alleviate this potential embarrassment? How should I best prepare for training, etc.?

Thanks a lot!

  1. Ha ha you will be fine. No one will be in shape. Trust me I run cc and no one is in shape at the begining. Also cc is different then other sports we are never mean to one another. We are always very encourging to even the slowest. cc is the best sport ever. If you work hard then there is no way you can fail (ex. 1st year I ran in the low 15s, I worked hard the 2ed year and I was running mid 13s.) Please join I helps you get healthy and lots of mustles.
