I live in ohio and there is this road not far from my house. There is a house at the beginning of this road it is empty but kinda looks like someone could live in it. And then about .2 a mile down the road there is a little bridge and then about .7 miles down there are a whole bunch of houses. Well im 15 and I was running in sweet pants and a white ohio state shirt. It was about back from the end of the three mile road going home It was about .4 a mile to my house when a red mustange came down the road and honked at me . I didn't get to see who was in it though. So I ran really fast because I didn't know if the car was going to turn around and come back. well I was near the empty house and there was this red dot coming down the road and well there is this Y and my road is on the straight part of the Y and I was right on the begning of my road and the car turned down the other way which is strange. But I couldn't tell if It was the car. I sprinted home... What should I do???

  1. I run on almost every street. people i know are constantly honking at me but i dont know who it was until later and they tell me.  But since you are a girl and probably cant protect yourself as well as some people. i would try to find a partner to run with. or try to go to a track with other runners on it

  2. just run with a friend on a different block

  3. First things first, you need to go burn the Ohio State shirt.  Other than that it was probly some kid being stupid.  Honk at some kids, maybe even wave, laugh as they look at you super confused with no clue who you are but thinking maybe they know you.

  4. Always go with your gut feeling, if your uncomfortable running that street, change routes.  Better safe than sorry.  Too many young girls go missing.  Run with a buddy, its safer.  Always let someone know that you are going for a run, let them know the route, and carry a cell phone.

I once ran alone for 34Kms and ran across the cougars path in pursuit of killing someones chicken (thank god he was on a mission), then an hour later, I had to stop running because a bear was feasting on someones plum tree...waited for 20 minutes before he went back into the bush.  Since then I carry my phone, tell someone where I'm going and about what time I'm expected back home, some runs my husband keeps me company by riding his bike.

    Run Sate!

  5. first of all i agree with nameless lose the shirt. Its probably no big deal just some random guy honking at u. I get honked at by random people i have never scene in my life in about a quarter of my runs, so its probably no big deal. I have been folowed for a half mile b4 by a car to then be congradulated by the random for going like 10mph then he drove off. but obviously if this guys like "you look tired i should give you a ride home,"run for your life.you have to be careful, but realize that not everyone that drives by and honks at you is out there murder/rape/kidnap you. Your choice whether you run down the road again i would, but if you dont feel safe then dont do it i guess

  6. unfortunetly it's not safe for anyone to do anything these days there are so many sickos out there, plus your real young- i think it's gresat hat your staying active by running but do it in a more filled neighbourhood, and possibly close to home, even if it means going around in a circle. i would also suggest you go with a freind but again stay in a close radius to home.

  7. it is not safe.
