Question:

Should I run or jog?

I want to start 'running' everyday if I can, however I am unsure of the speed I should be going.

I am 14 years old and I am not that fit I can run for about 2mins but I can jog for a lot longer.

When people say they go out running are they literally running?

Also I have only been out for the last three days yet the ball at the front of my right foot is really sore as if I have a blister but I can not see anything other than it being red and dry, it's so painfull, could it be my footwear? I do not wear 'proper' running shoes.

Thanks in advance for any help/ advice.

  1. it does sound like ur shoes are the problem to ur blisters. if u find that u r really into running/ jogging or walking u might want to look into getting a nice pair of shoes... if you do make sure to break them in or you will get ever bigger blisters. It is very good that u r trying to exercise and get active! dont push yourself too hard or you will say this is really hard and give up. try to run or jog  everyday increasing speed and distance as you improve. you will gradually build up endurance and get fit. dont forget to stretch and good luck && dont stop running =]

  2. so it is really the same if you run or jog however if you run well then its making yopu tired faster but if you jog well you can jofg 4 much longer SO GOOD LUCK

OO AND THE SHOES  well yes you have to wear proper sghoes 4 running coz you cant just go and run in any shoes i have this shows 4 pe and they make my feet really sore and painful and when i change thenm there is no pain after pe lol

  3. i think you should keep at a slow pace. bulive this, when you run you dont get as fitter. but when you jog it keeps the heart going. so keep at a pace you like.

  4. You should jog to get fit and sprint to lose fat. YOU NUST WEAR CORRECT RUNNING SHOES.

  5. You should start out at a comfortable pace and as you build up endurance you will be able to go faster and longer. I started off with a friend that was a runner and our deal was that she would do her thing and I would keep up as well as I could. After a few months we were at the same pace. When I started off I could only run for a short period of time then I would jog and at times I would have to just walk.  As for your shoes get a great pair of "running shoes", try on several pairs at the store, I love Nike, and buy the ones that feel comfortable on your feet, but also sturdy. Try not to run on hard surfaces, the impact is not good for your back or knees. The better shoes should help out with your foot problem. Also, give your foot a chance to heal, perhaps not running  until your foot is completely healed. Once your foot is healed start off slowly. To answer your question about the use of the word "running", I think people use it for both. I run...speed and distance is my goal. It has changed by body (for the better) so much and makes me feel great...I feel bad if I don't get my "rush/high" from my daily run. I just want to add as a female always be aware of your surroundings and never run after dark. If you can get one of your friends to run with you that would be great. Hope this helps!

  6. Jogging and running are simular, however most people go out jogging. Some call it going out for a jog, some call it going out for a run. The difference really is the effort yuo put into it - jogging and you can talk as you go, running and yuo can just about answer yes or no to questions

I guess that yuor 2 minutes is proper running.

I would go out jogging, and if after yuo have run a route you still have energy then next time try to run a little faster round it.

Your trainers could be the problem with your foot. If you have badly fitting trainers or running shoes then you are likely to get sore knees or ankles (If you start duffering from that then consider changing your trainers). Not sure what might cause the painfull foot, You could have a couple of days or so rest (alwys good - 2 days run, 1 day rest, 2 days run...) and see what your foot feels like after.

  7. i would go jogging and yes it is the footwear just get a normal pair of trainers and if you can't run that long there is no point in running.

  8. Jog its the best for you........ that way you won't get as tired faster than you would if you ran..............

ALWAYS GET PROPER RUNNING SHOES.............. trust me it will help in the long run......

Plus if you jog a lot and keep it going for a month you should be able to run much faster and longer

    ............

  9. You should get "proper" running shoes if you don't want to hurt your feet anymore.

I heard a good speed is where you can talk, but you can't sing. Maybe start off walking and jogging ocasionally, then slowly add more jogging into your workout. Try to get to the point to where you can jog the whole time. Then jog and run ocassionally, and add more running in, ect.
