Or would that just tire me out more. I missed a much needed month of practice and only have one left to get back in shape.

  1. it probably wouldnt be good for you since you havent been running alot. two a days are mostly for people who need more miles and so you should just start out running once a day so you dont run more than you need.

  2. no that would put too much pressure on your body.  maybe like once a week you could do two a days but you still need that one day off a week to rest.  besides right now is just base training- the real training (the speedworkouts) begin later on.

  3. i think u should practice - i missed several practices, too - and i got a little worse. once a day sounds great, but i recommend running a mile every other day, or if ur really serious about it, run a mile everyday or a mile and a half every other day! i hope it helped! =) good luck on ur cross country!

  4. Yes, you should. Though you are running twice a day and you have not been to a practice do not wear you self out. Drink lots of water and eat healthy.

Hope all goes well and good luck!

  5. It is not recommended to run twice a day just because you missed. Once a day is enough for your body.

The best is to try a mile more after 7 day-running training. If you run twice you will get tired and your muscles will not grow stronger.

Our muscles need at least 24 hours to recover and to get stronger, so if you run at 5 am one day and do work out for 45 - 60 minutes, you should start at 6 am next day and so on, always letting your body a rest day after three or four.

  6. that would tire you out. One a day for now....come back in a month and we'll see if you're ready for doubles :)

  7. You can try it, but listen to your body.  If you get done running and your body is screaming "it's too much", or if you are so sore the next day that you can't do it, then cut it back to one a day or take a day off.  Don't skimp on the stretches or the shoes--if you are working your body extra hard and have a goal with a time limit, you don't want injury to hold you back.

  8. yah that sounds good do that

  9. You should definitely not use 2 a days to make up for time not running..you just have to start running again once a day. I would advise you to start implementing doubles when you're running around 70 miles per week/when your recovery days call for 8+miles.

  10. twice a day is excessive once is good enough.

  11. If you think your body is capable of it, try it for a week and see how it feels. If it is just too much, go back to 1 a day. If I were you I would do 3 miles, like you said you already do, and then 1 mile later in the day.

  12. Start out for now just once a day but once you begin to feel in better shape, two-a-days will help you become a better runner.
