Question:

Should I see my doctor about my fertility?

My periods have been missing a month here or there since October. She wanted to get me on birth control to regulate them, but birth control just doesn't work with me. Now, my fiance wants to start a family and I'm worried that something might be wrong because we've had accidents in the past and nothing happened. Should I see my doctor and have her do a fertility test?

  1. Yes, if your periods are irregular, then you should see a doctor and have them run some tests.  Even if you have regular periods and have tried to conceive for 1 year (under age 35), you should see a doc if you don't become pregant in that amount of time.

You should also start charting your BBT's.  Check out fertilityfriend.com or pick up the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler.  That will tell you if you are ovulating.

    Good luck!

  2. yes you should. My hubby and I had our first child with no problems, but a few years later, when we wanted to try again, things did not work out as planned. My periods were irregular and erratic. Turns out I was not ovulating. Now my Dr has me on Clomid, to help me ovulate, and it is working! I am using a clear blue easy fertility monitor to keep track of ovulation! I highly reccomend getting one!

  3. Yes, but in order to help your Dr determine your particular problem try charting a few months worth of cycles. Refer to this website for charts & instructions
